Leafy privacy policy

In short: Leafy doesn't collect anything about you. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and we don't run any servers that your data could be sent to. Your garden lives on your phone, with an optional backup in your own iCloud.
What Leafy keeps, and where
To remember your garden between visits, Leafy saves its progress on your device. That includes your plants and their levels, the habits you log each day, your streaks, your awards, the story chapters you've read, and anything you write in the journal or the mood diary.
- On your iPhone: in the app's own storage, and in a shared space on the same phone so the home-screen widget and Siri shortcuts can show your plant.
- In your iCloud: if iCloud is on for your Apple ID, a copy of the save goes to your own iCloud so your garden can come back on a new phone. Apple stores it in your account, and we can't see it. Health numbers are removed from this copy (see below).
Apple Health
Health is optional, and Leafy only asks for it once you choose to connect it.
- What Leafy reads: steps, exercise minutes, mindful minutes and sleep. It uses them only to fill in the day's habits, so your plant can grow without you logging by hand.
- What Leafy writes: the minutes you spend breathing, dusting and tidying in the game, saved to Health as Mindful Minutes.
- What stays out: Health data never leaves your phone. It isn't sent to us or anyone else, it isn't used for advertising, and it isn't stored in iCloud. The iCloud copy of your save has today's Health numbers taken out, and only keeps whether each day's habits were done.
You can change or remove Leafy's Health access at any time in the Health app, under Sharing → Apps.
Notifications, widgets and Siri
Reminders are scheduled on your phone by iOS. The widget and the Siri shortcuts read your plant from the shared space on the same phone. None of them send anything anywhere.
Things you choose to share
If you share a picture of a plant, or a garden code to move your garden to another device, it goes only where you send it, using the iOS share sheet or clipboard. Leafy doesn't send these on your behalf.
This website
Leafy's website is hosted by GitHub Pages, which may log basic technical details such as your IP address (GitHub's privacy statement). If you once played Leafy's old web version, the page can read the garden it left in your browser, on your device only, to hand it to the app. It doesn't send it anywhere else.
Children
Leafy doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Deleting your data
- Start again in Leafy's settings wipes the save on your phone and the copy in your iCloud.
- Deleting the app removes everything stored on your phone.
- You can also see and delete iCloud data in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
